MEMBERSHIP
CRITERIA
Admittance to membership shall be conditional
on the applicant firm satisfying the following minimum requirements:-
A Proprietor or a Principal of the applicant
firm must:
1. (i) Have satisfactorily
completed an apprenticeship under the National Joint Training
Scheme for Building Operatives (Painting & Decorating) and
have gained the City & Guilds of London Institute Craft Certificate
and where applicable, have passed the CITB Skills Test,
OR
(ii) Provide evidence of having been employed
as a Painter and Decorator for a continuous period of not less
than five years.
2. Provide evidence of trading under the business
name for not less than one year.
3. Meet the professional requirements
of the Branch or Region to which application is being made.
4. Provide not less than two
separate references from recent customers.
5. Undertake to abide by the
Association’s Code of Practice.
Or in the case of a firm where the proprietor
or principal is not a professional painter and decorator (e.g.
Surveyor, Accountant etc.) the firm must undertake to employ operatives
who satisfy the criteria of paragraph 1 and comply with paragraphs
2 to above.
